Ditto Tape File Transfer and Data Conversion

DITTO & DITTO MAX and FlashFile tapes - we specialise in transfer and conversion of DITTO tape cartridge to CD , DVD or another hard drive.
Ditto tapes are sometimes called mini data cartridges. They are basically a proprietary form of QIC travan tape which were produced by Iomega, Tecmar and Sony. The cassettes require a special version of the tape drive reader to extract the files from them. Sony also made tapes destined for Ditto eg. QW QIC Wide 2GB (1GB native) mini data cartridge for the ditto 2GB drive.

DITTO data recovery or extract files

Some file recovery requests we get here run along the lines of... We backed up roughly files on several Iomega Ditto 2GB Tape Cartridge (Red cased) using Iomega PC Ditto a few years ago using the Iomega One-Step Backup98.exe software on a Windows NT machine. We don't have access to an NT machine anymore and can't restore the files. The restore was attempted on XP and Windows 7 without any success.

1-Step Backup Ditto Software

The recommended way to save data to the tape was using the PC Ditto One-Step backup for Windows 98 or Windows NT eg backup.exe backup 97, or backup98.exe. The software is no longer produced and many people are left with tapes that they thought would keep their data safe, but in this case they cannot get access to the files, having long since lost the software.

Flash!File

Flash!File (FlashFile) is an Iomega backup system allows the Ditto Max tapes to behave like a hard disk drive on your computer, providing a drag ad drop file saving to a reserved area on the tape of about 125mb.
