Exabyte Data8 is an 8mm magnetic tape format. It is sometimes called Exatape. The tape was created by taking the 8 mm video tape and making it suitable for data storage. It stores data via helical scan method like DAT. The tape is housed entirely in a cassette 4x2.63 x 0.8 inches. Exabyte Mammoth tapes may be used for file backup, data archives and data transfer.
