UDO 30GB Optical Disks
After numerous repairs to an Optical Jukebox, the client approached us to transfer data directly off the Verbatim and Plasmon 30GB UDO Optical disks. The disks held images of scanned documents (TIF and PDF), however the files were encoded or encrypted by the Pegasus Investore Document Management System. Likewise the disks used a proprietary filesystem meaning they were not recognised, requested format, and would not mount on any computer Windows, Mac, Unix, or Linux.
We made a disk image of each UDO disk, from which we analysed the File System, and developed a conversion software program to extract the files and export them to PDF. The files were saved to Windows NTFS formatted USB hard drive, along with the index numbers and Metadata. The client already had exported the Database from their system so they could cross correlate which image related to which item.
The UDO disks look similar to MO disks however MO disks are limited to 9.1GB whereas UDO disks can be 30GB and UDO2 disks are 60GB. This Disk Conversions & Transfer was filed under words like Pegasus Inverstore UDO MO Optical Disk Jukebox Transfer .
